I wanted to writing about selling our childhood home ever since we put it on the market a few years ago, and A Time To Move On tells that true story. My memories in that house range from writing my first songs, to playing my first shows in cafes and open mics and muddy backyards, to years later releasing There’s More To Life. My favorite lyric is a simple one — “everything must go,” both in life and in selling a family house.

Parts of this song were created in Middletown NY, NYC, Los Angeles, Nashville, Canada, Arizona, New Jersey, and the attic of the house I'm living in. I could not have made this without my loyal team of seriously talented friends from all over: Skinny Atlas, Skyler Stonestreet, Nate Sander, Patrick Droney, DJ Grusm, Regina Zaremba, Sean Moffitt, Joe Lambert and a lot more.

This is a hard year for everyone. I can’t pretend my music is the most important thing. But if it brings you joy, uplifts you, inspires you or has a chance to impact you for a moment, I am grateful.

My music has spread entirely through word of mouth up until this point, and that is thanks to you.

I got a bit creative with how I displayed the lyrics on this song on my website (you can view them here). I typed them up, printed them out on sticky paper, and stuck them on cardboard Uhaul moving boxes to represent the experiences the words originally come from. I’m always trying to find ways to get creative with how I present my music, in addition to the way it sounds, to help get the message across.

Hope you enjoy reading through the lyrics. A lot of care went into writing ‘em.
